You probably encountered men who portray themselves as a projection of what they think a successful businessman is supposed to be. I would describe them as those young urban professional alpha males who were shaped by competitive western capitalism. They have status, they have power, and they particularly look the part. But since our patriarchal system is crumbling, these men do not know how to behave anymore. We feel that there is something quite wrong with them. While clinging onto everything they still have, they lash out against their challengers.
In this insight deck we will examine who these men are, how they were raised and what makes them lash out against women in particular. We will dissect the mind of an American Psycho.

COLD GAZE METAMORPHOSIS is a story visualized by using imagery of how an American Psycho views the world.A character as the American Psycho is only as powerful as the unique experience they awake in each individual, and the subtle change they provoke therein. Thinking about how these men are trapped, not in a physically literal form but, more significantly, psychologically as a victim of their own neuroses and obsessions. This claustrophobia inside their minds triggers their metamorphosis into becoming the American Psycho.

Let’s paint a picture, imagine a future in the year 2033.
Technology is the lifeline to all social, practical, and cultural activity. The companies that supply that technology will have unprecedented power, because we cannot life our lives without their innovations.
What if the tech bro’s reign supreme in a world that relies on their technology? What will happen if tech bros become more powerful than politicians and take control over the world?
But just as easily we could go down a different road. What if the #metoo mentality fuels the next generation of [SHE]-E.O.’S? It is undeniable that the tech leaders of tomorrow will have control, but who says they have to be men?
